With so many advanced features, the Clipsal C-Bus Home Control system allows people to take complete control of their lighting and electrical devices, and as a result, significantly reduce their energy consumption around the home. Individually programmed to suit your home, routine and lifestyle, the C-Bus Home Control system can be used to control vacancy by turning off or dimming lights in the home that are not required as well as being used to control the temperature so your home doesn’t get too hot or too cold.

C-Bus can be programmed to control curtains and blinds, opening and closing them when required to eliminate heat transfer and the need for extra lighting when natural light is sufficient. A master control setting can also be programmed so that at the push of a button, all lights and electrical devices can be switched off, eliminating the use of standby power.

Add a touch of style to your home

The range of switches that are able to be used within the C-Bus system is extensive. Go beyond a simple wall switch with the popular DLT wall switch, available in a number of colours and finishes, this intuitive switch can be digitally labelled for each button’s purpose, and can control all the electrical elements of an area from one central location.

Stylish, touch sensitive LCD screens are another option available, that replace the need to have multiple wall switches and add enviable style and functionality to any home. Touch screens can control your entire home’s lighting, home theatre, air conditioning, security, watering system and almost anything else you can imagine. It can also be personalised with your own photographs or graphics and perform a huge range of programmable functions, all with the touch of a finger.

To ensure fast and reliable operation, each C-Bus device has its own in-built microprocessor and “intelligence”, allowing units to be individually programmed.

C-Bus uses a patented method for updating the status of units.  This method does not require a central computer or central controller to handle databases or lookup tables to operate.  The status of each C-Bus unit is initiated at specific time intervals, without the need of a central controller.  Each device is allocated a specific time frame to broadcast its status, synchronised by a self-generated system clock pulse.  This allows large amounts of data to be transmitted in a very small time frame, effectively and reliably on the network, leading to low processing overheads and low bandwidth requirements.

C-Bus is able to interpret these real world actions, and is programmed by the installer to cause a response (or series of responses) based on this action in the real world (via C-Bus Output Units).  This real world C-Bus response could be, for example, to dim lights, switch air conditioning units, close blinds, switch on a TV, or a combination of the actions.

A wide range of C-Bus input units are available to suit specific application requirements. C-Bus input units that are seen by the user, such as wallmounted switches, touch screens and scene controllers, are available in various styles and colours to suit the interior decor.

Output Units respond to messages sent from Input Units to either turn on, off or ramp a load to a pre-determined level.

Infra-red Control

The C-Bus Infra-red Transmitter Unit is a C-Bus output unit for controlling 3rd party devices using infra-red.  The unit is typically used for the control of audiovisual equipment eg. TVs, DVDs and VCRs.  Other infra-red capable devices such as motorised blinds and air-conditioning can also be controlled.

The unit can store an on board library of approximately 200 infra-red commands for control of these 3rd party devices (dependant on infra-red code length and protocol type).

With such device, you can simply select and enter advanced functions and commands such as lighting scenarios or hourly/weekly programmes for heating and air-conditioning, or perform a real-time check of your home’s energy consumption, and much more beside.

To do this, all you need do is install the Home Master Router in the home and then download the Home Master applications for iPad® from App Store®.

If you prefer to use your iPad® as a remote control unit, just download the dedicated Home Master application from iTunes®. This also allows you to check the amount of energy consumed and to control the entire automation system throughout your home.
